(A Personification of Black Culture)
Culture is represented in many ways, leadership, music, food, sports, entertainment, fashion, and entertainment. This project features some of the people that embody Black Culture, present, and past.
Chadwick Boseman brought us heroes of Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall, and Black Panther. Telling the story and portraying the struggles of our heroes despite having his own and becoming one in the process.
Shirley Chisholm a dynamic person who shook the political identity of this country, defying odds at every turn. She was the first black woman in Congress and the first woman and African American to run for president under one of the two major political parties.
Lebron James, “just a kid from Akron”, who lifted an entire generation. Who’s off the court moves might be more impressive than his insane NBA resume. From building schools and funding college tuition for disadvantaged kids in the black community, using his platform to speak out against injustices within the black community Mr. James is the pride of Ohio and a pillar of our community and of course, way more than just an athlete.
Lauryn Hill, one of the greatest musical minds to bless us with her unique style and unmatched poetic and vocal talents. Lauryn brought us the Fugees, the top selling rap album of all time, and single handedly brought Black Feminism to forefront of the music industry. An absolute genius and the mother of “Neo-Soul” she inspired a generation by voicing her experience of the pressures of an industry against her choice of motherhood and choosing happiness.
MLK a man of purpose and catalyst of change for an entire nation. From a “Birmingham Jail to Washington” he galvanized a never-ending movement with a single goal in mind, equality. His life was taken because of it and his legacy has had a lasting effect of changing the experience of black and all people of color in America.
These 5 amazing people are the inspiration for “The Culture Projxt” Stay Tuned…
